I'm excited to post a blog on what is fast becoming one of the biggest music festivals on Fort Lauderdale Beach, The Tortuga Music Festival. With attendance of over 100,000 visitors in 2017, this three day musical adventure draws numbers in accordance with other huge name festivals, such as Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and Coachella Music Festival. Every year Tortuga offers three days of country, pop, and other diverse sounds. Performers have included Eric Church, Keith Urban, Spearhead, Snoop Dogg, Cheap Trick, Shaggy, and more.

Fort Lauderdale city commissioners have confirmed that next year’s festival will take place April 12-14, 2019. Headliners and ticket prices were not revealed, however that information is usually kept top secret until November.

Tortuga Music Festival is not only about great music, but has a deeper message about ocean conversation and the environment. A portion of proceeds benefit the Rock the Ocean Foundation, a cause benefiting 5 core conservation efforts. The efforts are shark conservation, turtle conservation, marine pollution, overfishing, and coral reef degradation. Ultimately Tortuga Music Festival has been able to donate over $300,000 to Conservation Village, which consists of 30 organizations including the Guy Harvey Foundation, Sea Turtle Oversight Protection (S.T.O.P.), University of Miami, Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation, and Surfrider Foundation that provide awareness on issues impacting the world’s oceans and teaches individuals how they can support scientific research, education, and ocean conservation initiatives.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s the Annual Ford Lauderdale Air Show! Taking place on Fort Lauderdale Beach May 5th and 6th, this is truly an event not to be missed! The 3-day Tortuga Music Festival rolls back into town this Friday through Sunday, and this year’s star-studded lineup may be one of the best yet! As the South Beach Wine and Food Festival takes over Miami, Fort Lauderdale welcomes its own celebration of all things delicious with the 3rd Annual CRAVE Greater Fort Lauderdale Series, taking place February 21-25. Featuring an impressive list of A-list celebrity chefs, including Emeril Lagasse, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Andrew Simmern, this festival promises to delight foodies from all over South Florida!

This year, the CRAVE Greater Fort Lauderdale Series has incorporated a number of the signature elements seen at SOBEWFF, including seated wine seminars, official white beach tents, and the fan-favorite Lucky Chopsticks event, hosted by Andrew Zimmern Friday, February 23rd at the W Fort Lauderdale. In regards to the event, Zimmern is quoted as saying, “I hope it’s received well-I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be. The event is fun, and the food is awesome.”

CRAVE has continued to see growth over the years. Since its inaugural year in 2016, where Taste Fort Lauderdale consisted of eight local events and drew around 1,500 attendees, CRAVE now features 11 events and a crowd of more than 2,200. Show organizer Lee Shrager observed , ”We knew there was demand because we knew we had a lot of people attending the South Beach festival from Broward and even further north.”
